Margie MacLean, PTA

Margie received an Associate of Science for Physical Therapist Assistants at Loma Linda University in 2001.

Margie began her physical therapy career in California and worked there for five years. She then moved to Texas and worked two years. Yearning to come back to her roots in Washington, Margie moved back in May of 2008, where she was happy to join the Bellingham Physical Therapy team in August.

All of Margie’s job experience has been in privately owned orthopedic clinics. Margie has taken various continued education courses. Her favorites include Tai chi chuan as a therapeutic intervention, Back to Golf a performance program for golfers and SCENAR biofeedback training that works by stimulating the body's own natural healing process. She has volunteered at multiple Heath Fairs with the goal to educate the public about how they can improve their lives by exercising for better health. Margie has participated in three Relay for Life cancer walks to raise money for the American Cancer Society.

Margie makes it her mission to find the best possible intervention for each of her patients. “I love what I do and hope it shows”.

As a fourth generation Washingtonian, Margie loves the outdoors and all that the Pacific Northwest has to offer including hiking, biking, searching for huckleberries and cross-country skiing. She also enjoys finding new recipes and cooking them with her husband Jim, cheering on her daughter Leah who plays collegiate basketball, supporting/missing daughter Erin and son Brent away at College and teaching her dog Chloe new tricks.

“The best things in life… aren’t THINGS” – Art Buchwald
